Peer Review #1

Today I was asked to review two of my peer's blogs that they have posted online. Before I had never really given feedback to anybody only ever received it however, I did find that it really improved my knowledge of feedback. I had always been given feedback on my work all throughout secondary school but I never understood why we got feedback.

I realised that there are certain ways to give feedback by getting straight to the point without sounding too negative as people have different mindsets when it comes to feedback. Some can take it really deep and let it affect their whole performance depending on the person. From different articles given to us to read I found points on how to give feedback. One of them is to check if the performance is in line with the leader's expectations. This is key for me as if you write about something completely different it won't mean much as it's not what the person asked you to write about. Another is to be specific on what they will need to change. Some people can really be affected by feedback but I personally feel that feedback can be a great way to improve your work, to me it's essentially getting another person opinion on your piece. It can help you understand what you did best and what you need to improve on to update your piece. The articles really helped me to be able to change my wording while giving reviews with examples to make the wording better.

I do really feel feedback is a great way for people to help you improve on your work and can really be of benefit to you. It can also expand your knowledge on writing techniques when someone is giving you tips on how to upgrade your work. Negativity should not be seen in reviews as being negative in a review can really not allow the writer to know what exactly they can improve on. By stating what the person can improve on not just saying it's the wrong try again can allow the writer to gain more experience and confidence in their work.
